Description

Allen Professional Search, London Office, is currently recruiting an IT analyst for a 12 month contract in Eastern Ontario. Located in Perth, Ontario, with our client, a national manufacturing company, this contract has the possibility of renewal dependant upon business conditions.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The main responsibilities for this position include
  • PC Hardware set-up and upgrades
  • PC Software installation, back-up & restoration of files from servers
  • Help Desk Support
  • LAN administrator
  • application development
The candidate must be willing to provide their own transportation for travel to other sites in Brockville or Ottawa on an as required basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
For this position we are looking for candidates with a college diploma or university degree in computer science or information systems. Additionally, a strong understanding and knowledge of PC's, Servers, and networking applications would be beneficial.

Applicants should have:
  • Solid understanding of programming languages (java, .Net, mainframe languages)
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following would be an asset:
    • Linux Redhat
    • Tivoli
    • CICS
    • NT
    • RDS
    • MS Office 2003
    • SQL Server 2005
    • MS Windows 2003/2008 Server
    • MS Windows XP
    • Lotus Notes.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Self-starters with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience as a computer operator, call centre or I.T. help desk agent, personal computer support technician or application developer will be considered an asset.
  • A security clearance will be considered an asset.
